MLC Day 2019

Promote and celebrate ministerial education by hosting an MLC Day in your congregation!

MLC Day is a day to . . .

  • PRAY for our mission and ministry
  • SHARE our story
  • GIVE to support ministerial training

Help us celebrate at MLC too! Anytime between now and May 1:

  • Photograph your school, class, or faculty creating an MLC greeting.
  • Videotape an MLC shout-out, song, or skit.
  • Write a prayer for our students and staff.
  • Share all of these with us by email or Facebook!
  • Gather an offering for your College of Ministry. Your gifts on MLC Day will help fund the Congregational Partner Grant Matching Fund, directly supporting MLC students!
  • Find more ideas at!

On MLC Day, May 1, we’ll have a grand unveiling of all the schools’ and congregations’ prayers, posts, shout-outs, and songs!

Thank You, Congregational Partners

The Congregational Partner Grant Program (CPGP) continues to make a big difference in the lives of our students.
For the 2018-2019 school year, 457 students from 235 congregations received grants from their congregations totaling $375,430. MLC then matched these grants.

If you’d like to support your congregation members studying at MLC, please apply! Applications for the 2019-2020 school year will be accepted until June 3, 2019.

If you do not have any MLC students in your congregation, you can still participate. You can be the match! Your gift will be used to match other congregations’ gifts to MLC for their members.

MLC finished the school year with a team GPA of 3.548, good for number 20 among all Division III programs. That GPA was the highest among teams in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC).

MLC was one of only two Division III schools from the state of Minnesota to be recognized in the top 25 by the WBCA.

76 MLC Student-Athletes Named Academic All-UMAC

NEW ULM, Minn. – Martin Luther College finished the winter and spring sports season with 76 student-athletes named Academic All-UMAC

The total was just one shy of St. Scholastica’s UMAC-leading 77 honorees.

MLC also finished with the highest team grade point average (GPA) in four of the eight sports. The women’s tennis (3.752), men’s tennis (3.724), softball (3.692), women’s basketball (3.595) and baseball (3.342) each finished the season with the highest GPA in their respective sports.

That marks nine of MLC’s 16 sports teams to finish with the highest GPA in their sports, joining the volleyball, women’s cross country, women’s soccer and men’s soccer teams from the fall sports season.

To earn Academic All-UMAC honors, a student-athlete must record a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the semester(s) of competition.

Equipping Christian Witnesses

With the permission of WELS Conference of Presidents, we will conduct a two-year capital campaign in conjunction with the 2020 silver anniversary of MLC. The title, “Equipping Christian Witnesses,” not only reflects the mission of our institution—to train a corps of Christian witnesses to meet WELS ministry needs—but also the pillars of this campaign: recruitment, financial aid, and facilities.
