“Music is to be praised as second only to the Word of God because by her are all the emotions swayed…This precious gift has been bestowed on man alone to remind them that they are created to praise and magnify the Lord.”
–Martin Luther
Music at Martin Luther College is for everyone! Whether it is a large music ensemble or applied private study, music at MLC provides pathways to further develop one’s skill at the collegiate level. Our mission is to prepare men and women to serve the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in worship, music education, and music performance.
MLC offers four academic choirs: College Choir, Chorale, Mannerchör, and Women’s Choir. Each choir sings regularly for chapel and special festival worship services on campus. In addition, College Choir tours annually across the United States. Wind Symphony is MLC’s concert band option, which performs multiple concerts per year and also tours annually. Hosanna Ringers, MLC’s handbell choir, prepares students to play in and lead handbell choirs. Approximately one-third of the student body participates in a large music ensemble.
