Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
In order to meet the instructional needs of our WELS classrooms, many schools have extended part-time jobs and provisional calls to those who have not received formal training as Christian educators.
Martin Luther College is developing the Nontraditional Education Program to support our growing family of educators.
The Nontraditional Education Program is designed for returning, adult learners who have completed a two- or four-year degree at another institution but do not yet have an education degree. Specifically, the program intends to
- leverage online, competency-based course design.
- enable adult learners to apply their professional and personal experiences in meeting competencies.
- offer a flexibly paced course of study so learners can accelerate through content where they have academic or professional knowledge and slow down as needed.
We are intentionally designing the program to provide a supportive, learner-centered educational experience.
