The Lord of the Church continues to provide men and women who are willing to answer his question: “Whom shall I send?” (Isaiah 6:8) by humbly saying: “Here am I, send me!” The traditional path in WELS is when a man or woman begins their ministry training at a young age and prepares for ministry as a first vocation, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at Martin Luther College (MLC). The nontraditional path involves a man or woman who begins that training later in life and may have had one or more vocations prior to serving as a pastor/teacher/staff minister. All of these paths continue to result in called workers who are blessings to the people they serve in the places where God has called them to serve.
