Bachelor Science in Education
To prepare qualified educators, MLC offers a curriculum that leads to the Bachelor of Science in Education degree in their chosen field(s) of study. The education curriculum includes both general education and professional education courses. In addition, students have five field experiences and two student teaching experiences in which they apply standards of effective teaching. Refer to the program plans for specific information on eligibility for teaching assignments in schools of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
New and transferring students admitted to MLC’s education programs in the 2026-27 academic year are not eligible for Minnesota licensure. Please refer to the PELSB UPDATE found at the top right of the page for futher information.
If a graduate’s path leads to the desire to teach in a public school, the licensure process for other states details the initial steps to take. Often the process is simplified when holding a current Minnesota license.
