Our program’s primary purpose is to prepare men and women to serve in the public ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), equipping graduates for called service in WELS schools. Because of this focus, our licensure reciprocity efforts are concentrated in states where WELS schools are located, ensuring our learners are prepared to meet certification requirements in the communities they are most likely to serve. An evaluation of the program by submission of an application, an official transcript, proof of licensure and experience, and an application fee are required for most states.  Additional state-specific coursework and/or testing may also be required.

Candidates should review the specific state licensure requirements to determine the documentation and testing requirements necessary to apply for licensure reciprocity.
