Encore Library Catalog (MLC and nearby public libraries)

  • Search for books, DVDs, CDs, electronic books, and audiobooks in the MLC Library and nearby public libraries.
  • Place a hold on items and have them delivered to the MLC Library in a few days.
  • This is a free delivery service.

*MLC Students are asked not to put holds on items available at the MLC Library. Please come to the library in person and find your items.

MNLINK Library Catalog (Minnesota)

  • Search for books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks from libraries throughout the state of Minnesota.
  • Place a hold on items and have them delivered to the MLC Library within a week or two.
  • This is a free delivery service.

WorldCat (The United States and Worldwide)

  • Search for items worldwide.
  • Use the MLC Interlibrary Loan service to request material.
  • Delivery to the MLC Library is through the United States Postal Service. Please allow 1 to 2 weeks for delivery.
  • Charges for loans may apply.

Discovery (Comprehensive search of books and articles.)

  • Discovery is a search engine that provides one-stop access to many of the library’s articles, books, and electronic resource databases.
  • Set up a personal folder in Discovery and save articles for your next session. You will not be able to save articles until you set up a personal folder.  You can also download, print, or save articles or citations.
  • In some search results, you will have articles listed that are available only through Interlibrary Loan services. These articles are often available by purchase. Fees will vary.

  • If you know which database you want to search, use Databases A-Z to access that database quickly.  Searching within a certain database instead of using the more comprehensive Discovery search may provide better results.

If you know the specifics of what you want to search, the Publications A-Z list can help you find a particular journal, eBook, or other resources. You can search for a journal-title by subject, title, publisher or ISBN/ISSN number. Results will list databases holding the title search, and what years this title is available.

The library student staff has produced an online Christlight Index. This index is searchable by title, grade level, Old or New Testament. A very valuable tool for students who are in Teaching Religion, or preparing a bible lesson for the class presentation.

Hymn Prelude Index:

This collection is an index to the organ and instrumental music holdings of the MLC Library. Users can search by hymn tune, composer, or Christian Worship or Christian Worship Supplement hymn number.
