Science Department Assistant (2025-2026)

Description: Assist the Science Department in routine jobs.  Duties include, but are not limited to, assist in Chemistry lab preparation and cleanup, grading Biology lab reports, supervise Biology tests, assist in the general maintenance of labs, assist in chemical and safety plan management, inventory, and other tasks assigned by the department. Time management skills are essential.  This position also requires competence in computer use. Preference is given to secondary science majors.  Some experience in science electives is preferred.

Employment dates: August 23, 2025 – May 15, 2026 (2025-2026 academic year)
Working hours and days: Hours are mostly flexible and left to the discretion of the assistant
Regular or Occasional:  Regular – Student Life policies state: student employees may only have one regular job and may not work more than 19 hours per week.

Minimum age for employment: Individual must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Salary: $12.63 per hour
Benefits: Student workers are not benefit-eligible, but receive campus and community benefits through their status as students.
