Application for the WELS Principal Credential
Step One: Complete the Application.
Step Two: You will receive an invoice with instructions on how to pay the $200 administration fee. The administration fee helps defray the cost of the online portfolio platform.
Step Three: Once the application and administrative fee have been received by the director of ministry certification, the application will be reviewed. After the director’s approval, the candidate is enrolled in the online portfolio platform and given instructions on how to log in and begin.
The director of ministry certification works with each applicant to determine the best way to demonstrate WELS Principal Standards competencies.
Note: Members of the Principal Credential Cohort have already provided the necessary documentation as part of their cohort application. Cohort members receive the WELS Principal Credential upon successful completion of the program and do not need to submit a second application.
