Snow Shoveling Crew (2024-2025)

Job Description:  Clear entryways of assigned buildings 16 feet out from the door. Monitor the local weather to determine shoveling needs. If a dusting of snow occurs, the sidewalks still need to be maintained; be proactive! Be self-motivated and work independently and as a team to complete snow removal in a timely manner. Be knowledgeable about special events and athletic events. Work early mornings (i.e. 5:00 a.m.) to ensure sidewalks are cleared before campus classes begin. Work mornings, afternoons, and evenings as weather and event schedules dictate. Apply grit and/or ice melt. Dress appropriately with cold-weather gear such as coveralls, boots, jacket, hat, gloves, scarves, etc.

Working hours and days: Hours are dependent on weather events — early mornings, days, evenings, weekends.

Regular or Occasional: Occasional

Minimum age for employment: Individuals must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Student Life policies state: student employees may only have one regular job and may not work more than 19 hours per week.

Salary: $12.85 per hour
Benefits: Student workers are not benefit-eligible, but receive campus and community benefits through their status as students.
