ECLC Student Worker (2nd Semester 2024-2025)

Job Description: This position provides support for the Infant, Toddler, and/or Pre-primary classroom and assists a Lead Teacher by carrying out daily routines and procedures as directed at the Martin Luther College Early Childhood Learning Center. Works with children aged six weeks to Kindergarten. Responsibilities include providing assistance with meal preparations, after-meal dishes, snack preparations, laundry, maintaining cleanliness of the environment, and reporting any safety-related concerns regarding the physical environment.
Student Workers may also assist the Lead Teacher in educational lesson planning and activities, perform and monitor daily record-keeping for each child in the classroom, teach and interact with small group experiences, interact with parents, guardians, and caregivers of the children on a daily basis with positive conversation and promote communication between the Center and parent. Conduct other functions as needed or as directed. Position reports to respective Lead Teacher and the ECLC Director.
The individual in this position is required to be an active member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) or church body in fellowship with the WELS.
Employment start/stop dates: January 23, 2024 – May 16, 2025 (2024-2025 Academic Year)
Working hours and days: Monday through Friday, 10:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m.-3:15 p.m.
Regular or Occasional: Regular – Student Life policies state: student employees may only have one regular job and may not work more than 19 hours per week.
Minimum age for employment: Individual must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Working conditions: Lifting 40 lbs., bending, kneeling, standing, frequent mobility, use of chemicals, use of hands and arms, moderate noise level, ability to make swift movement, etc.
Salary: $13.13 per hour
Benefits: Student workers are not benefit-eligible, but receive campus and community benefits through their status as students.
