Teachers who become mentors typically desire to support new teachers so that new teachers do not go through the same experiences as they went through their first year and/or because they have a passion to share good teaching.

Qualities and Qualifications

  • have a minimum of three years of effective classroom teaching.
  • recognized as an exemplary Lutheran teacher and a Christian role model by administrators, colleagues, and community
  • demonstrates the ability to actively listen and collaborate with all members of a school community.
  • actively participates in ongoing professional development
