Competency-Based Theology (CBTE) Minor
The Competency-Based Theology Education (CBTE) is a year-long course of study prepares individuals to serve in the public ministry by focusing on the core foundation of our shared faith. These courses are now embedded in the APPLE Elementary Education Program offerings and typically completed during a learner’s initial three terms of study.
Learners complete two courses every fifteen weeks, with about a week break scheduled between terms.
These six courses are designed to support learners as they engage with God’s Word and Lutheran doctrine to
- Understand scriptures Christocentrically
- Apply law and gospel to self and others
- Embrace and evangelically defend Lutheran doctrine
- Serve in all vocations under the cross
The content is designed to encourage thoughtful reflection on what it means to be a Christian Educator in our modern world.
