Thank you for your prayers as we moved the Alternative Pathway to Professional Licensure Eligibility (APPLE) Elementary Education through the approval processes and for your patience as we finalized the application materials to accept individuals into the APPLE Program this fall.

We are pleased to share that the Fall 2025 APPLE Elementary Education Cohort application is now open. Individuals who have been studying in our CBTE Minor do not need to apply and will be able to matriculate directly into their APPLE studies.

With the expansion of our course offerings, learners accepted into the program will work with their faculty mentor to determine the most appropriate pathway to complete their studies.

Learner StatusCredit LoadTuition
Part-TimeComplete a minimum of six (6), but no more than eleven (11) credits over the course of a fifteen-week term.$4,000 per term
Full-TimeComplete a minimum of twelve (12) credits over the course of a fifteen-week term.$5,500 per term

Learners will be enrolled in no more than three classes simultaneously. All CBTE Minor courses are offered as classes that span a fifteen-week term. Learners who are completing their CBTE Minor coursework may simultaneously enroll in an additional flexibly-paced course that meets General Education or Licensure requirements. This flexible pacing allows learners to balance their work, life, and school needs so that they can make diligent progress toward their degree goals.

All applications must be completed online using the MLC Application form. On the enrollment page of the application, be sure to select “APPLE” for your program to make sure your application is properly routed and all required elements are completed.

You will also need to provide copies of official transcripts from all institutions of higher education that you have attended as well as a personal statement and letter of reference. Tips for completing the personal statement and letter of reference are available on our webpage. You can save your progress and return to complete your application.
