Martin Luther (November 10, 1483 – February 18, 1546) was a Christian theologian and Augustinian monk, whose teachings inspired the Lutheran Reformation (1517) and deeply influenced the doctrines and traditions of Protestant and other Christian churches. MLC Library is home to a seven-foot wooden sculpture, donated to Dr. Martin Luther College, in 1972.

The statue’s details extend from crinkles on the cape, fingernails, and facial expressions to the curls in the hair. One coat of wax and buffing when dry, was the finishing touch.
