DESCRIPTION: Teachers who complete this lesson can carry out a pre-visit conference that sets the tone for a growth-oriented visit focusing on student learning.
RESEARCH BASE: Researchers continue to study the impact of pre-conferencing on instructional coaching. Marzano Research is a leader in this ongoing endeavor within the education community. Jim Knight, research associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning, provides resources and training in the areas of conferencing and coaching.
