NOTICE: Detour for Highway 14 New Ulm to Nicollet Begins April 11. Traffic will be detoured through October 2023
Through traffic will be detoured onto Highways 15, 68 and 169 for the duration of the project. Construction will expand 12.5 miles of Hwy 14 from two lanes to four lanes between New Ulm and Nicollet to complete a continuous four-lane road between New Ulm and Rochester.
Detour routes and access points for local traffic are expected to change throughout different stages of construction. Detour maps can be found online here or at: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/
The Martin Luther College campus is located on the west end of New Ulm at the intersection of Center Street and Summit Avenue, across from the Hermann Monument. New Ulm is about 28 miles northwest of Mankato or about 90 miles southwest of the Twin Cities.

From the North or East
Highway 169 South to St. Peter; From St. Peter take Highway 99 west; turn right (west) on Highway 14 to New Ulm. Turn left on County Road 37; at the lights turn right on Broadway. At the second set of lights (Center St.) turn left and follow it to the top of the second hill. MLC should be visible. You can enter campus from Summit Avenue.
From the South
From I-90 take Highway 15 north. At the third set of stop lights in New Ulm, turn left (west) on Center St. and follow it to the top of the second hill. MLC should be visible. You can enter campus from Summit Avenue.
From the West
Take Highway 14 into New Ulm at the fourth set of stop lights turn right (west) on Center St. and follow it to the top of the second hill. MLC should be visible. You can enter campus from Summit Avenue.
