This scholarship was established in 2020 by the family of Amy Marlene (née Petersen) Smith (1965-2009).
Amy was a homemaker who loved playing organ for church and singing in choir. She also volunteered regularly at Wise Penny, which provides funds for West Lutheran High School and Christian Life Ministries.
The family said, “The Lord took Amy to himself shortly before her 44th birthday. We are grateful for the time we had with her. We want to continue her memory through the music scholarship.”
Scholarship winners are students in the preseminary, education, or parish music programs who exhibit the talent and desire to serve the Lord in a music ministry in WELS churches and schools. Financial need is also an important consideration.
