This scholarship was established in 2022 by Lester and Marion Timm, members of Sure Foundation in Brandon, South Dakota.
The Timms recognize two needs: the need for more called workers in the church and the financial need some students have while attending college.
“We are aware of the shortage of pastors and teachers,” they said. “And it is difficult for some students to afford the tuition to attend school. How many students who would like to be pastors or teachers don’t attend MLC because they cannot afford the cost of attendance?”
In gratitude to God for his financial blessings, the Timms have established this scholarship endowment fund to assist those students with financial need.
Scholarship recipients are MLC preseminary and education majors who demonstrate both scholastic merit and financial need.
