This scholarship was established in 2025 by Jim and Becky Rogotzke in honor of Becky’s parents, Ronald and Carol Kallies, to encourage and support students who desire to serve in the public ministry.
Ron and Carol both grew up with inspiring Christian examples. Encouraged by his parents, Herbert and Ruth Kallies, Ronald attended DMLC and graduated in 1968. He served as a teacher and principal in a number of schools in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada. His wife, Carol, also had a firm foundation in the faith through her parents, Wallace and Olga Wascher.
Together, Ron and Carol raised eight children. They prioritized Christian education and service to their Lord, both in the home and beyond. Some of their children are continuing in the footsteps of their parents by serving in the public ministry. Others continue in those same footsteps by serving in their home congregations.
Ron and Carol’s daughter, Becky Rogotzke, writes, “I have immense gratitude for the Christian faith that has been passed down through the generations. I trust in God’s faithfulness as he continues to raise up proclaimers of the good news for generations to come. My husband and I are glad for the opportunity to support future called workers through this scholarship.”
Scholarship recipients are sophomore, junior, and senior preseminary and education majors who demonstrate evangelism qualities or who have evangelism experience.
