This scholarship was established in 2024 by Paul and Suzanne Gydesen. Paul served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force for 29 years. During that time Paul, Suzanne, and their children moved many times. In each location they were blessed with a WELS congregation nearby. It was a comfort to worship with fellow believers who adhered to doctrine inspired by the Word.
“After membership in 11 WELS congregations across the country, we quickly recognized the importance of educating and training called workers to carry on the ministry according to God’s inerrant Word,” Paul says. “We have been blessed by God’s grace. These funds are intended to help prepare men and women to teach God’s Word to future generations of believers.”
Scholarship recipients are MLC students who demonstrate financial need.
