This scholarship was established in 2024 by David and Linda Baumann. The Baumanns both attended public high schools before attending (D)MLC. They know how that unique experience can be a struggle and a blessing, both in attending college and in ministry. They established this scholarship to help students who attended public high schools before coming to MLC. They hope this additional support will benefit those students in their journey through MLC. Linda received similar help when she attended (D)MLC and wants to create the same stability that her scholarship provided during her college career.
Scholarship recipients will be first-year students from three areas of study: preseminary, elementary education, and early childhood education. Candidates need a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and must submit an essay in which they express what their public school experience was like and how it will inform their approach to their future ministry. The scholarship will be renewed based on the maintenance of a GPA of 3.0 or higher at MLC.
