This scholarship was established in 2024 by Les and Sandy Schultz to encourage more young men to consider full-time ministry.
Both Les and Sandy have been active in their congregations for over 50 years. Les has held numerous council positions, starting at the age of 20, and chaired several committees, while Sandy has been active in Ladies’ Aid and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society and has served on the altar guild and various committees over the years. Where they saw a need they could fill, Les and Sandy have always been ready and willing to serve.
The couple recognizes the dedication it takes for young men to commit their God-given talents and time to the pre-seminary program at Martin Luther College. This scholarship is intended to encourage those young men on their journey toward becoming pastors and serving the Lord in their own unique ways.
Scholarship recipients are pre-seminary students who demonstrate financial need.
