MLC Auxiliary Scholarship - FUNDED
Description: This provides $750 scholarships for four students that are renewable for a total of four years.

Travel Assistance for Student Teachers - FUNDED
Department: Education
Description: This project assists student teachers with the financial burden associated with public school student teaching placement in schools with distances greater than 70 miles round trip. Gas gift cards (in $50 increments) are given to qualifying students – one card to students traveling 70-99 miles round trip, and two cards to students traveling 100 miles or more.

Daylight Outreach Opportunities
Description: We will use your gift to fund short-term missions, also known as Daylight experiences, in this school year.
Every year MLC partners with mission-minded congregations to send MLC students to fill mission needs all over the WELS and in international mission fields. Most mission trips last one week, some up to 10 weeks, but the benefits go on for years. God grows our students through these experiences. Students gain confidence for ministry and insight into ministry in a different setting, perhaps even in a different culture. Future church workers learn from the people with whom they serve to share the gospel in different ways. And they are motivated by their experience sharing the gospel to continue to study for ministry. These short-term mission experiences provide blessings for students that would be difficult to get in any other way. For that reason, MLC offers financial support for students who want to participate. Your gift, given out of love for your Lord and Savior, will make it possible for more students to serve, and more people to be served with the gospel. Thanks be to God!

Preserving the Trust Retreat and Clifton Strengths Inventory
Department: Education/Staff Ministry Seniors
Description: Each fall, our education and staff ministry seniors attend a retreat that helps them grow in gospel-focused resilience as they prepare to enter the public ministry. We use the Clifton Strengths inventory, an assessment tool that helps them understand their unique God-given strengths. This grant will cover a portion of the total cost of $4,000.

Trauma and First Aid Kits
Department: MLC Health Services
Description:This project will supply our campus with 10 OSHA-compliant first aid kits in the locations where they are most needed. Nine Class A kits, each costing $50, will contain standard first aid supplies. One Class B kit, which costs approximately $580, will be located in the maintenance shop and will provide supplies for serious injuries, including major bleeding. Consolidation allows us to monitor supplies, restock, and reduce waste.

Description: Our infants and toddlers enjoy taking strolls at any time of the year! One of our 4-seaters needs considerable maintenance. We’d like to replace that stroller with a 6-seat stroller that can be used both inside and out.

Book for Seniors - The First Days of School by Harry Wong
Department: New Teacher Induction
Description: In the past, the Auxiliary has partnered with New Teacher Induction to give graduating seniors the gift of a book, The First Days of School by Harry Wong, to help them get their first year of teaching off to a good start. The book is an excellent resource for the teachers as it focuses on classroom management, proactive organization, and maximizing student success. At times, it is also referenced by their mentors while mentoring during their first two years of ministry.

Microphone Protectors and Straps for Performance
Department: Forum
Description: We want to purchase 25 dance-specific protective microphone belts and pouches and 20 general performance pouches that securely hold wireless transmitters during vigorous dancing and costume Proper protection reduces equipment failures and replacement costs, and helps ensure reliable sound throughout rehearsals and performances.
Having these protectors will enhance our overall sound quality.

Description: BiblePlaces.com is a site that offers high-quality photos for use in PowerPoints and classroom handouts. The full archive is 17,500 photos. The product also comes with pre-made PowerPoint presentations on both Old and New Testament sites. We would be able to share the archive between professors in the History and Theology Divisions.

Table Top Easels
Department: Art
Description: Students in the Studio Art: Painting course would use them while learning to paint with acrylic or watercolor paints without having to hunch over their desk to paint. Students in the Studio Art: Drawing course would also use them for drawing and sketches. The easels have all of the features of an easel that can stay on the desk. The easels can easily hold canvases or sketchbooks and seem easy to adjust. There are knobs to adjust the easel’s height to fit larger-sized canvases, and also to control how upright the canvas sits on it. The drawer on the side is also very handy to keep extra brushes, rulers, and other supplies in.

Misc. Packing and Office Supplies
Department: Student Life
Description:First-year students often don’t think about bringing typical supplies they used to get from mom and dad. They ask the receptionist, the student life coordinator, and the dorm supervisors for help. This project will create a packing station for students in the library. It will include packing tape, scissors, staplers and staples, a label maker, paper clips, markers, sticky notes, and so on. Eventually, students will build up their supply as they make that transition into an independent adult. At first, they need a little support. This money would purchase materials and replenish supplies as needed.

Two Basketball Rebounders
Department: Athletics
Description:This will be used to teach basketball rebounding skills. This basketball shot rebounder ricochets balls back into play, teaching players how to anticipate rebound trajectories and adapt their positioning to block other players going for the ball.

Typti Racquets and Balls
Department: Athletics
Description: Typti is a new racquet sport that uses strung racquets and foam balls. Approximately a third of our season is played in indoor spaces. Since MLC does not have indoor tennis facilities, we use the gym for practice time. Typti equipment will allow a more effective use of the indoor gym-floor space . . . and be fun. These could also be used for PE purposes.

Description: The volleyball team would like to purchase cancer awareness uniforms to be used for all games during the month of October. These uniforms would tie in the Dig Pink game night to build awareness about breast cancer.
