To encourage and help you in your decision-making process, we invite you to visit Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) in Mequon, Wisconsin, for a 2-day Focus on Ministry event.

Sunday – Monday,
February 23-24, 2025


During this trip you’ll

  • tour the seminary campus,
  • visit classes,
  • worship in chapel, and
  • stay in the dorms.

You’ll also enjoy fellowship, games, food, and entertainment with young men from the seminary who are preparing to be pastors. They will answer your questions and share with you what it’s like to train to be a pastor.

WHO CAN ATTEND

High school students in grades 10-12

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Please arrive at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (11831 North Seminary Drive, Mequon WI 53092) at 7:30 pm Sunday night, February 23. Your Focus visit will conclude at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 24.

TRANSPORTATION

We ask that you find your own transportation to the seminary. If you fly into the Milwaukee airport, we can provide transportation from the airport to the seminary. If you’d like to come, but cannot find transportation, please contact admissions@mlc-wels.edu.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Athletic clothes for Sunday evening. The seminary students have planned some sort of activity in the gym to help mix seminary students with the high school students.
  • Formal dress clothes (shirt and tie) for observing classes on Monday morning. (Seminary students normally wear suits and ties for classes.)
  • Toiletries for overnight stay.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary will provide bedding and towels.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

Sunday, February 23
7:30 pm – Meet at WLS; check-in and welcome; unload in dorm rooms
8:00 pm – Games in the gym
9:00 pm – Pizza, snacks, and mingling with WLS students
11:00 pm – Lights out
Monday, February 24
7:30 am – Eat breakfast in the cafeteria
8:15 am – Meet in the dorm basement
8:25 am – Observe a class
9:20 am – Worship in morning chapel
9:45 am – Tour campus
10:45 am – Observe a class
11:40 am – Hear presentations and ask questions
WLS President’s keynote talk
WLS Student presentations (dorm life, studies, jobs, mission trips, changes in levels of school, etc.)
12:30 pm – Eat lunch in the cafeteria
1:00 pm – Depart
