Status Update: Oct 2, 2017 Power Outage

New Ulm experienced a brief power outage which brought down a few of our systems. They have since been restored and normal operations have resumed. Please contact us if you see any issues.

Status Update: Network Outage on July 31, 2017

There was a power outage on campus tonight which knocked our
network out for an extended period of time. This affected all services
hosted by MLC and internet access on campus. As of 9:16 pm, all services
should be back up and running at full capacity. If you notice any
issues, please let me know as soon as possible.

Status Update: BigBlueButton Upgrade Completed

The BigBlueButton upgrade was completed earlier than expected and without any complications. As soon as DNS propagates, everything should work as expected. If you notice performance or other issues with BigBlueButton at MLC, please contact Network Services. Thank you!

Status Update: BigBlueButton Upgrade Announcement

The BigBlueButton server will be upgraded to version 1.1 on Monday morning starting at 8 am Central. Upgrade time is expected to be no more than two hours.

Status Update: Comcast/XFINITY Outage Over

It looks like the fiber problems have been fixed and internet access has been restored. With an outage of this nature, there could be some small outages as they continue working to fix all of the issues so please be patient.

If there is a significant outage again, there will be another announcement. If you continue to have issues, please email support@mlc-wels.edu to create a support ticket.

Status Update: Comcast/XFINITY Outage Update

We just recently heard from Comcast/XFINITY that the outage was caused by a construction crew damaging a fiber optic cable somewhere outside of New Ulm. They have techs on the scene to repair the damage, but there is currently no ETA on restoring connectivity.
