Status Update: Comcast Outage Complete

The Comcast outage from earlier today is now complete, intenet access and other services should be restored. We are going to follow up with Comcast to find out what caused the issue and to see if there is anything that we can do to keep this specific issue from happening in the future.

Status Update: Comcast Outage Update

There seems to be an outage on campus related to our Comcast internet service. This outage affects all internet access on campus along with services hosted on campus (such as Moodle, Portal, and other hosted services).

We are currently working with Comcast on the issue and will provide updates as the day goes on.

Status Update: Wireless Network Issues

Since the network issues this past weekend, there have been issues logging into the MLC Academic WLAN and MLC Student WLAN. The issues were related to the work done to restore internet access to the rest of the campus for the weekend and this morning the problems plagueing the two aforementioned wireless networks has also been resolved.

Status Update: Network Issues Update

Over the past few evenings there have been some widespread network issues across campus. This has affected not just the ability of students in the dorms to access the internet, but many of our internal systems as well. Tonight we hope we have tracked down the culprit and are working to eliminate the problem in the future.

Status Update: Virtual Machine Outage Completed

Last night one of our virtual machine hosts became unresponsive. This morning steps were taken to eliminate our reliance on that unresponsive host, but it did cause various outages between last night and this morning.

All services should be working as intended, so if you notice anything strange, please either submit a support ticket at http://mlc-wels.edu/support or email MLC Network Services at support@mlc-wels.edu.

Status Update: CWDB Upgrade Complete

Due to unforeseen problems, the upgrade this morning took longer than anticipated. However, all systems should be back to normal and CWDB is now upgraded.

Status Update: CWDB Upgrade Planned

On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, between 7 and 8 am, the Campus-Wide Database will undergo and upgrade. This upgrade is planned to enable some new features for various projects on campus. Between 7 and 8 am, expect short outages that will affect any database access on campus, including Portal and other services.
