December graduation

On December 15, MLC held its December Commencement Service in the Chapel of the Christ. MLC President Mark Zarling preached on two texts chosen by the graduates: Psalm 139: 7-10 and James 1:17-18. President Zarling told the graduates, “You go forth as firstfruits. Your presence in the lives of others means God seeks to pour out his presents to them through the word you share. God presents you to the church as his presents and gifts, Christian witnesses who go to offer the good gifts of the Christ Child.” Rachel Wendland made the observation about her graduation from MLC, “Four and a half years of study, and God's continued grace, and now I am prepared and excited to serve God's people in the full time ministry, beginning halfway across the world in Zambia. All these major life changes in a short amount of time have made me take a step back and see God's hand in everything he has let happen in my life.”

At the Martin Luther College December 15 Commencement Service, 19 students received their Bachelor of Science degrees in the following areas: Early Childhood Education – 7,  Elementary Education – 6, Secondary Education – 2,  Early Childhood  and Elementary Education – 1, Educational Studies – 2,  and Staff Ministry – 1. Two graduates elected international service and two candidates from previous classes were assigned. Visit the MLC website for updated lists of assignments.
