Summer Hebrew Institute

Martin Luther College (MLC) and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) are proud to present the ninth annual Hebrew Institute. Led by Professor Thomas Nass, the Hebrew Institute will take place June 30 - July 4, 2014, on the WLS campus and again on the MLC campus July 14 - 18, 2014.

The ninth annual summer Hebrew Institute is an upper-level course in Biblical Hebrew for pastors with a strong interest and ability in Hebrew and for those currently teaching Hebrew in the fellowship of WELS. The heart of the course will be the rapid reading of 1 Chronicles 11-29 in Hebrew–the Chronicler’s account of David. These chapters focus on David’s zeal for Israel’s worship, and we will consider the monumental influence of David on the worship of believers down to the present time. These chapters also present “late Hebrew,” and we will note linguistic features that are different from classical, pre-exilic Hebrew.

On June 30-July 4, 2014, the Hebrew Institute will also be held at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. If you would like to enroll at Mequon, go to the WLS website and enroll directly through WLS. Use this brochure if you would like to enroll at New Ulm.

The Hebrew Institute is a 1 Credit course or can be transferred as 2 credits into a Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary degree program.
