Volleyball Sweeps North Central
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team cruised to a three set win over North Central in its home opener by the scores of 25-11, 25-16, 25-13 Tuesday night.
The Knights hit .329 on the attack for the match, while North Central struggled to a -.051 attack percentage in the match.
MLC featured a well balanced offensive attack, with Rebecca Engelbrecht and Jaime Eternick finishing with nine and eight kills, respectively, while Emily Boldt added six.
The Knights also took advantage of their serving opportunities, as both Mackenzie Krentz and Elizabeth Loersch finished with four service aces. Krentz also led the way with a game high 25 assists.
Defensively, the Knights finished with five blocks, led by two from Rachel Hein. Engelbrecht led the team with nine digs, while Eternick and Renee Peters added eight and seven, respectively.
With the win, MLC improved to 3-2 on the season, while North Central dropped to 0-5.
MLC will return to the courts on Friday, September 10, when it travels to Gustavus for a two-day tournament. The Knights' first game on Friday will be against St. Scholastica, and will start at 5 p.m.
