Volleyball Sweeps NCU
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The MLC volleyball team came back from a tough loss Friday night to dominate North Central in three games by the scores of 25-6, 25-10 and 25-20.
The Knights jumped on the Rams from the start, scoring the first seven points to win the first set.
In the second set, the Knights closed on a 14-2 run after starting the set with an 11-8 lead.
MLC closed out the match in the third with a late run, scoring six of the final seven points.
Heather Danell finished with a team-best nine kills, while Rebecca Engelbrecht added eight kills in two sets. Miranda Maasz finished with 23 assists, while MacCartney Mendolla had ten to help MLC hit .308 as a team on the day.
MLC’s win improves it to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in UMAC play, while NCU dropped to 1-15 on the season and 0-4 in league play.
The Knights will return to action Friday, October 5, when they host St. Scholastica for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
