Miranda Maasz and the Knights were picked third in the UMAC preseason poll

The Knights finished the 2012 season with a record of 16-12 overall and 10-4 in conference play, good for a third place tie in the final UMAC standings.

MLC returns five starters from last year's team, led by First Team All-UMAC performers Rebecca Engelbrecht (outside hitter) and Miranda Maasz (setter).

Juniors Alex Anthon, MacCartney Mendolla and Heather Danell all have starting experience, while sophomore Leah Nass will also play a big role in the middle for the team this year.

The Knights finished with 37 total points in the poll, three behind second place Minnesota Morris. Northwestern finished first in the poll with all seven possible first place votes and 49 total points.
