Three Volleyball Players Receive Conference Honors
ST. PAUL, Minn. - MLC volleyball players Mackenzie Krentz, Rebecca Engelbrecht and Renee Peters received UMAC Player of the Week honors for their play last week for the Knights at their season-opening tournament at St. Olaf.
The three girls helped propel the Knights to a 2-2 record in the four-game tournament, with wins coming against Presentation and Hamline.
Krentz was named Setter of the Week after finishing the week with an average of 8.86 assists per set.
Engelbrecht received Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Knights in kills with 39 on the week. Engelbrecht led MLC in kills in three of its four matches, and hit .310 in those four games.
Peters was named Defensive Player of the Week, as she finished with a team-best 4.93 digs per set last week, and recorded a serve receiving percentage of .910.
The MLC volleyball team will return to the courts tonight (September 7), when it hosts North Central in a 7 p.m. match.
