Knights Clinch Playoff Spot with Win
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team clinched a spot in the UMAC tournament with a four-set win over Bethany Wednesday night.
The Knights won by the scores of 25-23, 25-18, 18-25, and 25-22.
MLC outhit the Vikings .177-.153 for the match, and had three players in double figures in kills. Rebecca Engelbrecht led the way with 16 kills, while Jaime Eternick and Emily Boldt added 12 and ten, respectively.
Boldt also led the MLC defense up front with six block assists, while Renee Peters and Eternick finished with 14 and 12 digs, respectively.
With the win, MLC improved to 17-11 overall and 7-5 in the UMAC, clinching a top four seed in the conference. Bethany dropped to 10-15 overall and 5-7 in league play.
MLC will finish the regular season this weekend, starting with a road trip to Minnesota, Morris on Friday. That match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
