Women Finish Fourth at UMAC Outdoor Championships

MORRIS, Minn. – The MLC women’s track team set a school record and had a number of other strong finishes as it took fourth place at the UMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Minnesota, Morris Saturday.

Erin Kelly competed in two field events and was part of a school record-breaking 4x400 relay team

The Knights 4x400 Meter relay team took third place, but broke the school record with a time of 4:26.03. The relay team consisted of Lauren Maertz, Julie Kent, Erin Kelly and Hannah Hackbarth.

Emilee Koltz was the top individual finisher, taking second in the 5000 Meters with a time of 19:32.14.

Koltz was one of three runners to finish in the top ten in the 800 Meters, finishing sixth with a time of 2:32.70. Hackbartch and Kent took seventh and ninth, respectively, in the 800, while Hackbarth also finished fourth in the 1500 Meters with a time of 5:15.29.

Maertz was the other top finisher individually in the running events, finishing fifth in the 200 Meters with a time of 1:03.74.

In the field events, Kelly took fourth in the High Jump with a jump of 1.42 meters, while Elizabeth Murry finished sixth in the Shot Put and Javelin Throw, and also finished ninth in the Discus Throw.

MLC finished the meet with 31 total points. St. Scholastica finished first with 338 points, while UM-Morris (157 points) and Northwestern (63 points) took second and third, respectively.
