Koltz Wins 5000 Meters at UMM

MORRIS, Minn. - MLC women's track runner Emilee Koltz led a strong group of finishers at the UM-Morris Invitational Saturday by winning the 5000 meter run.

Koltz won the event with a time of 19:48.11, beating the second place finisher by nearly three seconds.

In other running events, Brooke King took fifth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:15.88, and also finished eighth in the 800 meters. Hannah Hackbarth finished just ahead of her in the 800, taking seventh with a time of 2:40.91, and also took eighth place in the 1500 meters.

Elizabeth Murry was the lone finisher in the field events, finishing fifth in the Javelin, eighth in the Discus and 11th in the Shot Put.

The track team will return to action on Saturday, April 28, when they compete at Macalester at 4:30 p.m.
