NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team earned its first win of the season against Bethany Lutheran by the final of 7-2.

Charis Goelzer won her singles and doubles matches against BLC


MLC started with a pair of wins in doubles, with the teams of Mateja Epple/Charis Goelzer and Melissa Stibb/Nicole Wood winning their matches 9-7 and 8-3.

In singles, the Knights took five of the six matches, all in straight sets. Carissa Kock, Holly Marquardt, Goelzer, Elizabeth Broring and Bekah Johnston each won their matches.

MLC improved to 1-6 on the season and 1-4 in the UMAC with the win, while BLC fell to 2-15 overall and 2-4 in league play in defeat.
