NEW ULM, Minn. - The women's tennis team at MLC was able to beat Bethany by a final score of 5-4 in a close match Wednesday afternoon.

MLC took four of six singles matches to take down the Vikings, who won two of the three doubles matches to start the match.

Carol Niemi (La Crosse, Wis./Luther), Karina Luthra (Simpsonville, S.C./LPS), Hannah Janke (Sioux Falls, S.D./LPS) and Tessa Hieb (Cleveland, Ohio/LPS) each won their singles matches in straight sets for the Knights. The team of Carol Niemi and Heidi Heckmann (Lake Mills, Wis./LPS) won its doubles match.

With the win, MLC improved to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the UMAC. The Knights will return to the courts on Saturday, April 17, when they travel to St. Scholastica for a 3 p.m. match.
