MLC Women Take Down Rams
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's tennis team beat North Central by a final of 7-2 Monday at home.
Carol Niemi won her singles and doubles matches against North Central
MLC took home all three doubles matches by the scores of 8-4, 8-2 and 8-1 to start the match with momentum and a 3-0 lead.
In singles, the Knights took four matches, with Carol Niemi (La Crosse, Wis./Luther), Karina Luthra (Simpsonville, S.C./LPS), Hannah Janke (Sioux Falls, S.D./LPS) and Tessa Hieb (Cleveland, Ohio/LPS) each winning in straight sets. Rachel Niemi (La Crosse, Wis./Luther) and Heidi Heckmann (Lake Mills, Wis./LPS) both lost their singles matches in three sets.
With the win, MLC improved to 4-7 overall and 3-4 in UMAC play this season. The Knights will return to the courts on Wednesday, April 28, when they travel to UM-Morris to take on the Cougars.
