ST. PAUL - Martin Luther College junior Emily Waldek was named UMAC Player of the Week in softball for the second consecutive week.

Emily Waldek was named UMAC Player of the Week in softball for the second straight week

Waldek continued her torrid pace to start the season, going 7-10 with two walks and a hit by pitch for a .769 on-base percentage in four games over the weekend. In Saturday's double header against Loras, Waldek went 6-6 with a home run and a double to lead the MLC offense.

Through the season's first nine games, Waldek is now hitting .630 (17-27) with a 1.074 slugging percentage, .706 on-base percentage, 13 runs scored, eight extra-base hits, and three stolen bases.

Waldek and the Knights are scheduled to return to action tomorrow (Wednesday, April 2) when they host Bethany Lutheran for a double header starting at 3 p.m.
