The Knights jumped out to a six-run lead in game one and held on for the 6-4 win over Northland.

MLC scored once in the first and three times in the third on RBI hits by Andrea Biedenbender and MacCartney Mendolla to take a 4-0 lead.

The Knights added two insurance runs in the fifth inning thanks to an RBI triple by Biedenbender, who scored on a passed ball later in the inning to push the lead to 6-0.

Starting pitcher Laura Miller allowed four Northland runs to cross in the sixth, but finished the Lumberjills in the seventh to improve her record to 8-6 on the season.

In game two, the Knights were held without a hit in a 6-0 loss to St. Scholastica.

Saints' pitcher Tracy Roach threw a perfect game, striking out five and not allowing any baserunners in the game.

MLC starter Kathryn Marquardt held the high-powered CSS offense to six runs on nine hits, but took the loss as she dropped to 7-5 on the season.

The Knights' record is now 17-11 overall, and 11-7 in UMAC play. MLC will return to action tomorrow (Sunday, April 28), when they play host to St. Scholastica in a double header scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
