Softball Loses Morning Game at CSS
DULUTH, Minn. - After a day of schedule changes, the MLC softball team played one game at St. Scholastica Saturday morning, losing by the score of 5-2.
The Knights fell behind 5-0, with a four-run third inning by the Saints giving them the big lead.
MLC would respond in the top of the fourth with a pair of runs on a two-run double by Amber Krause to cut the deficit to three, but the Knights were unable to take advantage of other opportunities in the inning, stranding a pair of runners in scoring position.
The Knights weren't able to generate much offense the rest of the way, with only one hitter reaching base in the final three innings.
Laura Miller pitched for the Knights, allowing all five runs (four earned) in six innings as she dropped to 3-6 on the season.
MLC fell to 4-11 overall and 3-3 in the UMAC with the loss, while CSS improved to 13-8 on the season and 5-1 in league play with the win.
