Softball Drops Two at Macalester
ST. PAUL - The MLC softball team lost both games of a double header at Macalester by the scores of 8-0 and 9-0 Saturday.
Macalester scored at least once in each of the first five innings on the way to an 8-0 win in six innings.
The Knights were outhit 17-2 in the game, with starting pitcher Laura Miller allowing all eight runs and 17 hits as she picked up the loss.
Sarah Free and Madeline Scott had the two hits for MLC.
Macalester scored four times in the first and twice more in the second on the way to winning game two 9-0 in five innings.
Free had MLC's only two hits in the game, as the Knights were outhit by Macalester 12-2.
Free picked up the loss on the mound for the Knights, allowing all nine runs and 12 hits in four innings of work.
After the double header, MLC dropped to 1-7 on the season, while Macalester improved to 9-5.
MLC will return to action on Monday, April 2, when it hosts Bethany.
