Softball Drops Two at Augustana Tourney

MOLINE, Ill. - The MLC softball team dropped a pair of games at the Augustana Tournament Saturday, losing game one 12-2 to Dubuque, and game two 22-0 to Coe.

Karla Opperman had a double and a run scored in game one


The Knights were unable to overcome a rough second inning in the field in a 12-2 loss to Dubuque in the first game of the day.

Laura Miller pitched for the Knights and picked up the loss, dropping to 1-2 on the season.

Sarah Free and Karla Opperman each hit doubles for the Knights, and each scored one run in the game.

COE 22, MLC 0

The Knights were unable to register a hit in a 22-0 loss to Coe in game two.

Sarah Free got the start and was able to go just one inning on the mound for the Knights, dropping to 2-3 on the season with the loss.

With the two losses, MLC dropped to 3-5 on the season. The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Sunday, March 27), when it plays Wartburg and Augustana in Moline, Ill. The Wartburg game is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
