Knights Lose Two at Augustana Tournament
MOLINE, Ill. - The MLC softball team dropped two games at the Augustana tournament on Sunday to UW-River Falls and Wittenberg by the scores of 17-0 and 5-0, respectively.

The Knights were only able to muster one hit and struck out 12 times in their loss to UW-River Falls.
Rachel Sellnow (Grand Rapids, Mich./MLS) picked up the lone hit for MLC, while Heather Korb (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran HS) added a stolen base.
Laura Miller (Kent, Wash./Evergreen) got the start on the mound and took the loss for MLC.
Wittenberg 5, MLC 0
Wittenberg jumped out with a four-run lead in the first inning, and while the Knights kept within striking distance the rest of the way, they weren't able to push any runs across to get all the way back.
MLC finished with six hits on the day, led by Amber Krause (Watertown, Wis./LPS) with two. Amanda Fogle (Oakdale, Minn./SCLHS), Sarah Free (Plover, Wis./LPS), April Cook (Menomonee Falls, Wis./KMLHS) and Jessica Henning (Redwood Falls, Minn./Redwood Valley HS) each had one hit for the Knights.
MLC had a chance to make things interesting in the seventh inning with the bases loaded, but stranded all three runners to end the game.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 5-4 on the season. The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, March 30, when they play their home opener against Wartburg. Game one of the double header will start at 3 p.m.
