The Cougars jumped on top in the 14th minute on a penalty kick goal by Ally Heida after a hands in the box call to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

UMM scored once more in the first half to take a two-goal edge heading into the break, and then tacked on two insurance goals in the second half to ice the game away.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 5-4 on the season and 2-3 in the UMAC, while the Cougars improved to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in league play.

MLC will return to action Tuesday, October 4, when it travels to North Central for a game starting at 6 p.m.
