Women Shut Out at UMM
MORRIS, Minn. - The MLC women's soccer team lost at Minnesota, Morris Thursday by the score of 5-0.
The Knights were outshot 25-3 in the game, and were unable to get a shot on goal in the match. Bethany Schultz had all three MLC shots.
UMM climbed on top early, scoring a pair of goals in the first half to take a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Cougars came storming out of the break, netting three goals in the first 18 minutes of the half (two by Zoe Bergstrom) to take the five-goal lead it would not give up.
Keely Keese and Katelyn Malley each played a half in goal for MLC, with both finishing with two saves.
MLC dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the UMAC with the loss, while UMM improved to 4-2 on the season and 3-0 in league play in the win.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, September 22, when they host Crown for a game scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
