Jenna Maurer scored a pair of goals in MLC's win at NCU

The Knights started the scoring early, with Jenna Maurer sending home a pass from Lauren Maertz in the fourth minute of play.

MLC would score four times in the first, with Alex Hastings, Maurer and Bethany Schultz scoring in order to give the Knights a 4-0 halftime lead they would hold the rest of the way.

The two goals give Maurer seven on the season. Schultz's goal was her sixth, while Hastings added her third tally.

Keely Keese had the shutout in goal for MLC, with the defense in front of her stopping the Rams' offense by holding them without a shot on goal and only two shots overall.

With the win, MLC improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in UMAC play. NCU dropped to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in league action with the loss.

The Knights will return to action on Friday, September 27, when they host Minnesota Morris at 4:15 p.m.
