Women Drop Night Game at Bethany
MANKATO, Minn. - The MLC women's soccer team lost their night game at rival Bethany by the score of 3-1 Tuesday night.
The Knights fell behind 2-0 in the first half, as the Vikings scored in the ninth and 33rd minutes of play, but Bethany Schultz gave the Knights life near the end of the half, scoring her seventh goal of the season in the 38th minute of play off a free kick to put the score at 2-1 at the half.
Bethany came out firing in the second half, and scored the third goal in the 53rd minute and held on for the final 3-1 margin.
MLC was outshot 18-13 for the game, but finished with more shots on goal by a 7-6 margin. Schultz led the Knights with four total shots, three of which were on goal.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 6-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the UMAC, while Bethany improved to 8-2-2 on the year and 4-1-2 in conference play.
MLC will return to action on Friday, October 15, when it hosts Northwestern for a match scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
