NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team received a late goal from Bethany Schultz to win 2-1 against Presentation Saturday afternoon.

Bethany Schultz scored in the final minutes to give MLC a 2-1 win


The game was tied 1-1 in the 88th minute when Schultz scored the winner unassisted to put the Knights ahead and secure the win.

MLC had taken an early lead when Casey Sauer scored in the 13th minutes to give the team a 1-0 edge it held until the 73rd minute, when PC's Kate Johnson tied the game.

The winner was Schultz's fourth goal of the season, while Sauer's first half tally was her second on the year.

The Knights outshot the Saints 33-11 for the match, and held a 16-5 edge in shots on goal. Keely Keese stopped four of the five shots she faced in goal for MLC.

MLC improved to 2-1 on the season with the win, while PC dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, September 11, when they host Gustavus in a match scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
